Chocolate Bread

2 1/4 cups flour
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup oil
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups chocolate chips
1 1/2 cup pecans (optional)

Grease and flour 2 loaf pans.  Combine dry ingredients, then mix in wet ingredients.  Mix in chocolate chips and pecans.  Spoon batter evenly into pans.  Bake at 325 for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 min.  shield bread with foil to prevent excess browning.  Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing, then cool on racks.
