1 Tbsp butter
1/2 cup butterscotch ice cream topping
1 to 1 1/2 cups cream soda
butterscotch candies, crushed into fine bits or powder
Melt butter, and add ice cream topping. Mix until butter and topping are well blended. Cook until bubbly. Let sit for 30 seconds or so. Slowly add soda. (Will fizz a lot.) Pour into mugs and top with crushed butterscotch candies.
* I could NOT find normal butterscotch ice cream syrup. (I even went to multiple stores!) All I could find was a caramel butterscotch topping. So that's what I used. So obviously, there was a taste of caramel to it, but I felt like the butterscotch flavor was more dominant.
* I made it with both one cup and then another batch with 1 1/2 cups of soda; I liked the 1 1/2 cups much better. I guess it depends on how thick you want it.

I am about to try this recipe. I found that Kroger and Smuckers brands had straight butterscotch topping. Before I found that, though, I thought about getting butterscotch chips; I may try that next time- it seems like it might give a nice texture/flavor.
Oh, man. That is so good. Brooklyn started to tear up.
